Sudoku life lessons
Sudoku life lessons:
After playing this game for awhile now, I am convinced that many of the principles used in this simple game of logic can be applied to everyday life.
- Take things one step at a time, and don’t expect to solve the entire puzzle all at once. Savor each step and delight in its order, like the courses of a meal.
- If you want to solve the puzzle, you need to have a consistent strategy that works. If you remain consistent, everything else will fall into place.
- If you find yourself stuck and unable to make progress, take a 5 minute break and relax. When you get back, you may find that the solution was right in front of your face the whole time!
- Learn from your past mistakes so that you can finish things faster and more efficiently.
- Your “gut feeling” is not always the best thing to go off of. If a move “feels” good, that doesn’t mean that it is the correct one. Wait for the rest of the picture to become clear before making any rash moves. The sure answer will always show itself in time.
- One mistake can cause confusion, frustration, and ruin the entire puzzle. One correct step tends to start a domino effect of goodness!
One more thing to note: Sudoku pronounced like it's spelled, SUDOKU (Soo-doh-koo). It's not SODUKO (Soh-doo-koh), mmk? Look up the pronounciation key for it on dictionary.com if you don't believe me. This seriously bugs the heck out of me, lol.
